How to Gain Admission into UNIJOS Faculty of Law

The Faculty of Law, University of Jos is one of the most foremost Law Faculty in Nigeria. Being a reputable institution, the University of Jos receives thousands of applications from prospective Law candidates. This makes the Faculty of Law one of the most competitive in the whole school.

The UNIJOS Faculty of Law is one of the twelve faculties in the University, with two departments namely:

(i) Law
(ii) Criminology and Security Studies.

Students are admitted into the respective law programmes if they satisfy the general university admission requirements for UTME and direct entry requirement. Admission into UNIJOS faculty of law is strictly on merit and candidates must have a good performance in their UTME by meeting the UNIJOS Cut Off Mark for Law.

UNIJOS FACULTY OF LAW ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

UNIJOS UTME Law Requirements:

English Language and any three Arts or Social Sciences subjects.

UNIJOS UTME Subjects:

Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Literature-in-English and any two of Arts or Social Sciences subjects.

UNIJOS Direct Entry Law Requirements:

UNIJOS accepts;

(i) Two A level passes in Arts or Social Science subjects.
(ii) NCE/OND/First Degree (Second Class Lower)

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)/ REMARKS

1. JOS accept Diploma in Law.
2. JOS accepts at least a merit grade in its Diploma plus four (4) credit passes at ‘O’ level and does not require English Literature. Also accepts first Degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division but does not accept NCE, OND, HND.
