The Faculty of Law, Ahmadu Bello University is one of the most foremost Law Faculty in Nigeria. Being a reputable institution, the Ahmadu Bello University receives thousands of applications from prospective Law candidates. This makes the Faculty of Law one of the most competitive in the whole school.
The ABU Zaria Faculty of Law is one of the twelve faculties in the University, with four departments namely:
(i) Commercial Law,
(ii) Islamic Law,
(iii) Private Law and
(iv) Public Law.
Students are admitted into the respective law programmes if they satisfy the general university admission requirements for UTME and direct entry requirement. Admission into ABU faculty of law is strictly on merit and candidates must have a good performance in their UTME by meeting the ABU Cut Off Mark for Law.
ABU FACULTY OF LAW ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
ABU UTME Law Requirements:
English Language and any three Arts or Social Sciences subjects.
Islamic Law – English Language and any three Arts or Social Sciences subjects including Arabic or Islamic Studies.
ABU UTME Subjects:
Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Literature-in-English and any two of Arts or Social Sciences subjects.
Islamic Law – Five O/Level credit passes Arts or Social Sciences to include English Language and Islamic studies or Arabic.
ABU Direct Entry Law Requirements:
ABU accepts;
Two ‘A’ Level/IJMB passes in English Literature and other two Arts or Social Science subjects.
