Maritime Academy of Nigeria Post UTME Form 2020/2021

The Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN) post UTME admission application form for the 2020/2021 academic session has been released.

Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Oron, invites all the candidates who selected Academy as their institution of First Choice and have scored the specified cut-off marks to attend the Post JAMB UTME screening exercise for National Diploma programmes as stated below.

Latest Update: MAN post UTME application is still ongoing. The deadline for registration has been extended until January 22, 2021.

MAN Post UTME Eligibility.

Candidates seeking admission into the Academy must have a functional and accessible electronic mail address (E-mail) and mobile phone number.

Applicants are required to possess the following:

  1. A minimum of 175 marks in the 2020/2021 UTME for:
    • Nautical Science
    • Marine Engineering and
    • Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  2. A minimum of 160 marks in the 2020/2021 UTME for Maritime Transport and Business Studies.
  3. A minimum of five (5) credit passes in Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent obtained in not more than two sittings within the LAST FIVE YEARS in relevant subjects.
  4. Applicant MUST have the correct JAMB subject combinations for each course of Interest.

MAN Post UTME Requirements.

Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent and JAMB subject Combination

  1. Nautical Science:          
    Five (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects:

    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Geography
    • Physics and any other relevant Science subjects obtained at NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.
      UTME Subject Combination:
    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Geography
    • Physics
  2. Marine Engineering
    Five (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects:

    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Physics
    • Chemistry any other relevant Science subjects
      UTME Subject Combination:
    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Chemistry
    • Physics
  3. Electrical/Electronic Engineering   
    Five (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects:

    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Physics
    • Chemistry any other relevant Science subjects
      UTME Subject Combination:
    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Chemistry
    • Physics
  4. Maritime Transport and Business Studies           
    Five (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects:

    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Economics/Commerce and any two relevant subjects from Government, Principles of Account.
      UTME Subject Combination:
    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Economics
    • Commerce/Government/ Principles of Account

Physical and Medical Fitness:

  • Due to the peculiar requirements of the Institution and the maritime industry as well as international convention (STCW) 95 as amended in 2010 which mandates all sea men to be physically and mentally fit to work in the maritime industry, all applicants are expected to be physically and mentally fit to be able to withstand the rigours/challenges of the cadetship training

Marital Status:

  • Applicants must be single and shall remain single throughout the duration of the programme.

Age Limit for Each Programme

  • Candidates applying for Nautical Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Marine Engineering must be between the ages of 16 and 21 as at the time of commencement of the programme.
  • Candidates applying for Maritime Transport and Business Studies must be between the ages of 16 and 25 as at the time of commencement of the programme.

How to Apply for MAN Post UTME.

The online application will commence from Monday, 12th October 2020.

Screening Fee: N2,000.00.

Eligible candidate should log on to the Academy website www.maritimeacademy.gov.ng and take the following steps:

  • Click on Admission – HND/ND Registration Portal
  • Login with UTME number as Username and Jamb Score as Password
  • Generate and Print the Payment Slip
  • Proceed to any of the banks listed on the application portal dashboard to make payment using eTranzact Payment Platform or pay online
  • Return to the Academy Portal to Complete the registration form.

ADVISORY:

  • Candidate with incomplete registration will be automatically disqualify
  • The Academy has zero-tolerance for drug abuse, bullying or any social violence. Applicants found wanting shall lose his/her cadetship.
