The Lagos State Examinations Board, LSB wishes to inform the general public, Schools, Parents and Teachers that the sales of form for the Basic Education Certification Examination, BECE into the Senior Secondary School for 2019/2020 session has commenced.

The Basic Education Certification Examination are taken by candidates to transit from the ninth year of the basic education class to the senior secondary, the BECE is conducted for candidates in their third year of the Junior Secondary School.

Sales of forms or scratch cards of the Lagos State 2019 Basic Education Certificate Examination, BECE will commence from Monday, 14th January till Friday, 12th April 2019.

Lagos State (BECE) Admission Form and Registration Guidelines 2019/2020

I write to inform you that registration for Year 2019 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will commence on Monday, 14th January, 2019 and will end on Friday 12th April, 2019.

Late registration will commence on 15th April to 3rd May, 2019.

2. To this end, every Public Secondary School is requested to collect her PIN/CD at the Education District Headquarters for online registration of their candidates Bio-Data, CAS 1, II and III in line with subjects of the examination. In addition, a copy of Subject Analysis should be submitted alongside the registration print-out on or before Friday 29th March, 2019 to avoid penalty for late registration.

3. Approved Private Junior Secondary Schools will collect their PIN/CD at the Board after payment of Examination fee at the designated Banks approved by Government.

4. Late registration will commence from Monday 15th April – 3rd May 2019. it will attract a penalty of additional Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) per candidate.

5. Loss/Damage of PIN/CD will attract a penalty of Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00) per School (irrespective of the status i.e. Public/Private).

6. Schools that have candidates with Special Needs (ALBINO/VISUALLY IMPAIRED etc) in JSS III should inform the Lagos State Examinations Board in a separate letter to enable the Board make adequate preparations for issues that may likely affect such candidate(s) during the examination.

Lagos State BECE Registration Payment Schedule

Examination Fees Per Candidate

(i) Approved Private Junior Secondary Schools = N6,000.00
(ii) Junior Secondary Schools with Special Permission and SRI Report = N9,500.00

Entry Period

Registration; Monday 14th January, 2019 to Friday, 12th April, 2019
Late Entry Period: Monday 23rd April – Friday, 31st May 2019, after which Registration will close finally.

Payment Procedures

In line with the State government Payment Policy, all payments to the Board MUST be through Central Billing Systems (CBS) for all Examinations listed for Year 2019.

To this end, all Proprietors/Proprietresses/Principals of all approved Private Junior Secondary Schools are thereby advised to:

(i) report at the Desk of Liaison Officers in charge of their Zone at the Examinations Board for payment details.

(ii) A copy of Bank teller, showing payment should be returned to Accounts Department at Lagos State Examinations Board for collection of official receipt.

Lagos State BECE Registration Requirements

(i) Scanning Candidate’s Passport Photograph Schools arc required to SCAN and UPLOAD a recent Passport Photograph each of their candidate, sized 275 x 314 pixels in jpg format and must be on RED or BLUE background.

(ii) Also, ensure that there is no obstructive item such as headgear, cap, sunglasses, etc. to candidate’s face. (iii) Submission of a defaced or a poor quality photograph by a candidate would automatically invalidate the entry of such candidate.

Error-Free Registration

Proprietors/Proprietress/School Principals should ensure error-free registration by:

(i) Proofreading their entries thoroughly before final submission

(ii) paying attention to the nine compulsory subjects, Date of Birth, Gender and other necessary information required.

(iii) taking pains to place the candidate’s photograph correctly and most importantly;

(iv) request for correction of error(s) Bio data, Subjects, Passport photograph and other information will be entertained before the release of result.

However, this will attract a PENALTY of N10,000 per candidate.
